Listening : Is it important to only practice with British speakers ?
No. In the IELTS exam, there are many accents including from the UK, Australia, New Zealand and North America.
Speaking : Is it ok to use slang in the speaking test ?
Yes, as long as the language is not rude. It is important to use language that is not common or standard because this shows the examiner your vocabulary range. Therefore, you can do this either by using formal or informal language.
Reading : Is it better to read the article first before looking at the questions ?
Yes. This way you can get a good global perspective of the article. Also, it means that you can pinpoint the answers to the questions in the article more quickly.
Writing : Does it matter if you write slightly less than 150 words for Task 1 and 250 words for Task 2 ?
Yes. If you write less than 150 words for task 1 and less than 250 words for task 2, you will lose points.
